The fire started in a home on the 100 block of Reservoir Road around 6:00 a.m., according to Bendersville Community fire department.

As fire crews entered the home through the basement, the first floor immediately collapsed onto them, the chief details in the release.

Thankfully, crews from Adams and Cumberland counties were able to safely extract the two firefighters from the home— both only suffering from minor injuries, authorities say.

The fire also left one firefighter with what one social media user described as "The Bendersville Bend" as his helmet warped, but whether that was due to the heat or the collapse is unclear.

The home was total loss, according to fire officials. But none of the residents were harmed and they will stay with nearby relatives.
